NOTE: Before using this page, you must read the Licensing Guide before you can start using this page. Your use of copyright license is strictly monitored. Improper use of the license will be banned.
The tool will only license in 4.0 version of Creative Commons license. If you are looking for 3.0 versions, please use the legacy chooser.
What's This
This page allows you to license your work in Creative Commons. Even though that contents are licensed, there are some other stuff to be licensed as well. We done this so your content is kept in distance from your other stuff that is manually licensed, either a drawing, a photo, and other stuffs.
Essentially, the content is automatically licensed in Creative Commons after publishing your article. But if photos, paintings, and other stuffs is in the content, it is NOT licensed. So our solution is this: license the other stuffs and put them in the content or your article. And that it is.
So how I am able to choose license?
Simple. We have provided a Creative Commons Choose A License tool so you can start choosing your license. Here are the list of license that you are familiar with:
Attribution
CC-BY is a most open license because you can make derivatives in the work, you can sell it, you can some terms. But you must credit the author and provide links to the original work.
Attribution-ShareAlike
CC-BY-SA is also most open license. You can sell the content, you still to credit it, but your derivatives must stay in the same terms. Meaning you can't change the license into something else.
Attribution-Non-Commercial
CC-BY-NC is a partially open license that you cannnot distribute the content in commercial purposes.
Attribution-No-Derivatives
CC-BY-ND is a partially open license that you credit the author, release it commercially, but you can only distribute the material unaltered.
Attribution-Non-Commercial-ShareAlike
CC-BY-NC-SA is the least open license. Why? This is because that you cannot distribute the content commercially and you have to keep the same terms if you change the content.
Attribution-Non-Commercial-No-Derivatives
CC-BY-NC-ND is the most stricter license that you cannnot make changes to the content and you cannot distribute the material for commercial purposes.
Public Domain(CC0)
This one does not reserved any rights at all. Hence, "No Rights Reserved". You do not need to attribute the content, but you can distribute it in any way you like, and you can make derivatives on it. You are allowed to change the terms in any way you like.
Public Domain(Non-Commercial)
Similar to CC0, but the only difference is that you cannot distribute the content for commercial purposes.
Before licensing, they are thing to consider:
