Ministries

Overview

The Arstotzkan Administration consists of various ministries, each serving a specific purpose within the country. While there are numerous ministries in operation, there are three notable ones that people may be familiar with:

Ministry of Admission (M.O.A.)

The Ministry of Admission is responsible for border control and serves as the employer of the inspector and their supervisor. This ministry issues official documents required by entrants and issues citations to the inspector for any mistakes made. On December 3rd, 1982, a break-in at the M.O.A. offices leads to an outbreak of forged documents. Following multiple terrorist attacks, the M.O.A. appoints a new director on December 5th, 1982. Their seal is a crest with a red slash in the middle surrounded by red coloring, with or without the M.O.A. lettering.

Ministry of Labor (M.O.L.)

The Ministry of Labor is responsible for issuing work passes to individuals seeking employment in Arstotzka. Their seal depicts a hammer on a purple background, with the hammer's head pointing leftward. The M.O.L. lettering may or may not be present on the seal.

Ministry of Information (M.O.I.)

Functioning as an intelligence agency, the Ministry of Information oversees the Office of Investigation. This division conducts information audits on government employees and monitors potential domestic and international threats to Arstotzka. One of the notable members of the M.O.I. is M. Vonel, a Special Investigator in the East Grestin Division.

Ministry of Justice

Starting from December 6th, 1982, the Ministry of Justice publishes a wanted list. On December 8th, 1982, guards from the M.O.A. are reassigned to other duties, leaving the inspector in charge of border defense.

Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health oversees public health matters. When a polio outbreak in the neighboring United Federation threatens Arstotzka on December 17th and 18th, the Ministry takes action. Initially, the Inspector is instructed to deny entry to all individuals from the United Federation. However, the Ministry later introduces the Certificate of Vaccination, requiring all entrants to provide proof of an up-to-date polio vaccination.

Ministry of Income

Responsible for investigating financial anomalies, the Ministry of Income allows citizens to file reports if they notice sudden increases in someone's wealth.

Ministry of Trade

The Ministry of Trade is responsible for the production of legal tender, which includes the Arstotzkan Dorum, the country's currency. Additionally, it will also be on the soon to be shared Eurasian-Arstotzkan Dollar. On December 11th, in response to trade sanctions imposed by Impor against Arstotzka, the Ministry of Trade retaliates by imposing its own trade sanctions on Impor.
