SCP-6651 instance

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-6651 must be stored inside a reinforced, airtight storage unit at Site-██, which must be kept under constant surveillance by no fewer than four armed guards at all times. All personnel assigned to SCP-6651's containment must undergo a rigorous psychological screening process and receive regular counseling sessions to ensure their mental stability and resilience against SCP-6651's anomalous effects.

In the event of a breach or accidental activation of SCP-6651, immediate lockdown procedures must be initiated, and all personnel within a 5-kilometer radius of the breach must evacuate immediately. The area must be secured by MTF squads trained in handling anomalous disasters and equipped with specialized gear designed to mitigate SCP-6651's effects.

All attempts to replicate SCP-6651 or reproduce its effects are strictly forbidden, and any unauthorized testing or research on SCP-6651 will result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment and legal prosecution.

Furthermore, all personnel involved in the containment and study of SCP-6651 must adhere to strict safety protocols, including the use of specialized handling equipment, protective gear, and the establishment of clear communication channels and emergency procedures.

Due to the high-risk nature of SCP-6651 and its potential for catastrophic consequences, all containment procedures must be regularly reviewed and updated based on the latest intelligence and threat assessments. Any changes must be approved by no less than two Level 4 personnel and implemented under the supervision of the Site Director.

Description:

SCP-6651 is a Blue RGD-5 Soviet Grenade 114 mm long and 58 mm in diameter. SCP-6651 is disguised as a Christmas ornament in order to conceal its true nature. When SCP-6651 detonates, it creates sudden changes in the world, resulting in natural disasters, terrorist attacks, or other catastrophic events. The blast caused by SCP-6651 does not have any physical effect on the ground where it detonated.

SCP-6651 is also noted for its anomalous anti-memetic properties. Any individuals who have been directly exposed to SCP-6651's blast are immediately affected by a powerful amnesiac effect, causing them to forget the events leading up to the detonation of SCP-6651. This effect has been observed to be instantaneous and retroactive, meaning that even if individuals had recorded their memories in some way, the memories will have already been erased upon exposure to SCP-6651.

SCP-6651 was first discovered in 19██, when a family went missing, and all that was left behind was SCP-6651. It was estimated that there were approximately 500 instances of SCP-6651 in existence at that time. However, there are currently 7000 instances of SCP-6651 that have been accounted for. The potential for SCP-6651 to cause widespread destruction and loss of life has led to its classification as Keter.

Incidents involving SCP-6651 have resulted in thousands of deaths. Notable incidents include:

Incident 6651A

On April 26th, 1986, Researcher █████ was experimenting on SCP-6651-46 to study its workings. After a few hours, the researcher pushed the grenade, causing it to explode. The explosion caused the Chernobyl disaster, which led to the deaths of thousands of people and a nuclear disaster that affected the environment for years to come.

Incident 6651B

On October 17th, 1989, Junior Researcher Nathaniel was conducting research on SCP-6651-79 when he suddenly dropped the grenade, causing it to explode. This explosion led to the San Francisco earthquake, which caused significant damage and resulted in the deaths of 67 people.

Incident 6651C

On September 11th, 2001, Agent T██████ was responsible for guarding SCP-6651-629 while Dr. ████ performed tests on it. However, the agent fell asleep on the job, and the grenade was hit and exploded. The explosion caused the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, leading to the deaths of nearly 3000 people.

Incident 6651D

May 4th, 2003: A D-Class personnel, D-8793, was given SCP-6651 as part of a testing procedure. After 12 hours of being in possession of SCP-6651, D-8793 exhibited symptoms of extreme paranoia and anxiety. Despite attempts to remove SCP-6651 from his possession, he refused to relinquish it and subsequently triggered the anomaly. The resulting explosion caused a catastrophic fire that burned for three days in the surrounding forest, leading to the evacuation of several nearby towns.

SCP-6651 has proven to be extremely dangerous and unpredictable, and its effects can be catastrophic. Further research is ongoing to understand the nature of SCP-6651 and develop effective containment procedures.

Incident 6651E

December 25th, 2006: A group of individuals, who were later identified as members of the terrorist group known as the Brotherhood of the Phoenix, stole SCP-6651 from Site-██ during a containment breach. The group detonated SCP-6651 in the center of a major city, causing widespread destruction and an estimated death toll of over 500 civilians. The group was later apprehended and terminated, but not before revealing that they had obtained several other instances of SCP-6651.

Incident 6651F

June 18th, 2010: A containment breach occurred at Site-██, resulting in the loss of several SCP objects, including SCP-6651. Despite the Foundation's efforts to locate and recover SCP-6651, it was not found until four years later, when it was detonated by unknown individuals during a major international summit. The explosion caused the collapse of the building and the deaths of several world leaders. The origin and identity of the individuals responsible for the attack remain unknown.

Incident 6651G

On December 2019, an SCP-6651 instance was reported to have caused a novel coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China, leading to the World Wide Pandemic known as COVID-19. Investigations revealed that the SCP-6651 instance was smuggled into the city disguised as a Christmas ornament and detonated in a crowded market, resulting in the spread of the virus to thousands of people in the area.

Further analysis of the SCP-6651 instance revealed that it contained a unique strain of the coronavirus that has never been seen before. It was concluded that the anomalous properties of SCP-6651 had caused a mutation in the virus, leading to its unprecedented transmissibility and lethality.

After Incident 6651G, all efforts to locate and contain the remaining SCP-6651 instances have been intensified. No new incidents related to SCP-6651 have been reported since then, and it is believed that all known instances have been successfully contained and destroyed.

This is the last known incident regarding SCP-6651.

Addendum 6651.1: Due to the significant threat posed by SCP-6651 to public safety, all Foundation personnel are reminded to exercise extreme caution when handling anomalous objects that may resemble SCP-6651. Any objects suspected of being SCP-6651 should be immediately reported to the Site Director for proper containment and disposal.
