There currently exists a bug in Wikidot that sometimes causes it to fail or greatly delay the sending of account confirmation emails. As a workaround, please do not use any email address with numbers in it or any hotmail email address. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we are reaching out to Wikidot directly in the hopes that they will fix the issue permanently.

Please Note: the 'Facebook Integration' offered by Wikidot for account registration is currently broken. Using this method could lead to issues using or recovering your account. We strongly advise against using Facebook Integration.

Usernames:

• Bad Usernames
  • No names with "SCP" or "Class D" or an SCP number.
  • No names with a Foundation character that isn't yours (like Dr. Bright, Dr. Sophia Light, Able, or Alto Clef).
  • No names saying you're official website staff (like 'admin', 'administrator', or 'moderator').
  • No names saying you're in charge at the fictional Foundation, or other fictional groups on our website (like Senior [anything], MTF Leader, O5, Director, Executive, or Overseer).
  • No names with profanity (swear words) or offensive content.
• If you have one of these names, we may remove your account. Please change that name.
  • To change your name: Go here and click on Edit next to your username. You can only change your account's username twice, so be careful.
• You can have names like "Doctor", "Researcher", and "Agent", because these names don't say you're in charge at the Foundation. If you're not sure, ask a staff member.

Account Rules:

• Only you can use your Wikidot account on our site. Do not share your account with anyone.
• You are only allowed to use one Wikidot account on our site. Any "extra" accounts will be removed.

Roleplaying:

• We are not a roleplaying site. Don't pretend to be a fictional character, and don't pretend to be a member of the fictional Foundation.

Age:

• This website contains mature themes and discussions. We expect members to behave in a mature and adult-like manner. All members are expected to be at least 16 by May 8th, 2021, at least 17 by May 8th, 2022, at least 18 by May 8th, 2023, and have reached the age of majority within the nations of which they live. There are no exceptions to this rule, ever.

Applying:

• Please write the Site Passcode in the application below, then state your age, and submit the application. If you still don't know the Site Passcode, then read the Guide for Newbies, and you will find instructions letting you know what to do.
• You only need to send us the Site Passcode and your age in your application, nothing more. DO NOT include unsolicited personal information, such as birthdate.

By submitting an application below, you are agreeing that you were born on or before May 8, 2005, and will follow the rules of this site.

After Applying:

• Please allow 2-3 days to allow us to accept or deny your application.

When You Get In:

• Once you've joined the site, please introduce yourself in one of this month's introduction threads. (Writer/reader/explorer, you choose!)
• You can find the introduction threads at this link. Please do not make a new thread for your intro. Thank you!
  • If you want any advice, resources, or recommendations on where to start, check out the monthly Getting Started Questions thread!
• If you're interested in the Foundation Universe but want to do something in a non-restrictive format, you can check out the Wanderers Library. It's the only official spin-off site of the SCP Wiki. The site premise is framed around the home base of the Serpent's Hand, the Wanderer's Library, a trove of every story ever written in every reality. It houses stories about the Hand and its members, as well as the many stories contained within the library itself.

If you got denied:

Reasons:
Did you get the passcode right?
Did you include your age?
Did you put ONLY your current age and the passcode and NOTHING ELSE like you're supposed to?
Does your username and profile pic comply with the rules?

If the answer to all of those things is yes, it was probably a glitch.
If the answer is no, fix it before reapplying.

What to do:

You'll need to go here, and delete the old application before reapplying.

You need to click on the denied application before the option to delete it will appear.
